Ah your right. but I'm guessing the community heroine is another girl that we haven't seen yet as opposed to letting us choose who will end up as swooning over us. I would feel sorry for Mayu if her mind was attacked and she suddenly found the MC to have the manliest swagger in the room.

She better be a romance option, for one having just two heroines romanceable would make the game a little boring so trow her and our teacher into the mix. Second i always romance the blue haired Heroines because they are my favorite. Third three romanceable options is the minimum required for a VN about waifuing characters (otherwise just make one Heroine and focus on her). If Kaori and Yuuna are really our only options then i will be dissapointed, we already have the Class President and the Tsundere, Mayu is the one i want to find to wich archetype she serves. Also forget about pairing, waifus are only for the MC. You dont see Yosuke or Jumpei in P4&3 trying to snag them from you right? Shou is the bro, and snatching our waifus wouldnt be the most broest thing to do right? PS: new here, nice to meet you all. We're not in a classical Waifu, but just as you say, mayuu is quite different, since she's not a tsundere, not a dere, probably not a yandere (Damn that would be so fun) she's more like a Coodere i guess. For pairing, well we're not in a classical visual novel, and we have a lot, and by a lot i mean A LOT of hint of a potential romance between Shou and Mayu. Something like that already happen in Eien no aselia for exemple (With Kouin and Kyouko) however there was an ending in witch you finish with kyouko. To be honest, the third heroine if we reach her with paypal, you all better say "MAYU" or... Well you will see a yandere behind your door. What is a classical waifu? In any case i suppose it would be okay as a choice but it would be bad if you snatch Mayu from shou or viceversa because friendship overall. So it should be handed carefully.

Three actually (With the community heroine) And well, there is some hope for Mayu, i mean they never say "THERE WILL BE NO ROUTE", since they are meany who like to see me suffer. So... you're saying you would suffer less if PixelFade actually came out and said "THERE WILL BE NO ROUTE"? Personally I'm all for voting for Mayu rather than the whole "community-influenced romance option" if only because I'm lukewarm on the idea of a "community-influenced romance option" in the first place. Why? Well to paraphrase one Yahtzee Croshaw: People don't know what they want until they have it. Therefore, if you ask someone what it is they want they will just ask for more of what they already have. The current state of the PHASE 1: Community Influenced Romanceable Choice thread should prove sufficient evidence for this claim. As it is likely that none of us are writers, no new ideas are really being produced and instead we have everyone basically saying "Why don't we just copy-paste x character from (insert character from book/anime/VN/Video Game here)". The benefits of just using Mayu is the fact that she is already a unique character that will likely posses more depth than any half-assed copy-paste we could come up with as a community, and she is already fully integrated into the story (presumably). The fact that she is already set for a very likely romance with Shou shouldn't ultimately prove to be much of an issue as well considering that PixelFade have been hinting very heavily that whichever romance option you don't pick will end up with someone else anyway... so Mayu's hypothetical route would be no different than the ones already in existence. Just my thoughts, for whatever they are worth (hint: not much).

@lord Revan
I agree completely, my biggest fear would be people trying to push an agenda through the character and damage the overall experience. Im not very picky when it comes to character archetypes but pushing an agenda could really drag down the game. Like in ME were Bioware tried to add gay characters were their only personality revolved around being gay instead of being a character that just happen to be gay (Like Jun in Persona 2).

All the talk of Mayu's romance route really spark my interest, so I will give a vote for Mayu having her own route. Curious enough Mayu seems to be the most lady like comparing to other girls, kind yet mysterious.

By the way, Pixelfade, i hate you all so much xD

Reading through this thread, the question I have is, if a new girl is introduced would she be in someway tied to the MC already, that is in his class or part of Kendo either the club or a rival club... or something completely outside of Kendo and his class that might draw him away from both? Maybe draw him toward the "dark side" and more the bully people think he already is?
Of course the Mayu route would be interesting too and as LordRevan said, she is already an existing character, not that it isn't possible a yet to be named character doesn't already exist with a unique and fleshed out identity to the writers.

Episode 2 Spoiler (subject to change) “Shou and Mayu emerge from the front doors after a few minutes. They spot <MC> and walk over.” # Mayu and Shou enter from left side, walking speed Shou “Heyyo!” MC “Hey Shou." Mayu "Hi." MC "How’s it going?” # Directed at Mayu Mayu “Good! How was your day...?” MC “Can't complain. Do you have any plans for today?” Mayu “I have a lot of homework to do, but I can leave Shou in your care.” # Playful “Mayu gently shoves Shou forward.” Shou “Hey, no pushing!” MC “*groan* Oh, well. I guess it can’t be helped. Shou will have to do.” # Exaggerated, Playful Shou “Now what’s that supposed to mean?” Mayu “See you later, you boys have fun!”

Ironically enough... I think I'd find this a more satisfactory conclusion than ShouXMayu.

Look guys, I can personally say that Dishu and I both fanboyed out about Mayu for a good ten minutes the first time he showed her to me. If Dishu ever says he doesn't want a Mayu route he's lying.**
** The views of this post are purely Ethan's opinion and in no way reflect the opinions of PixelFade as a whole or Dishu. But seriously we both agreed that Mayu was the best. Don't deny it Dishu.
