Oh, what are your thoughts on Long Live the Queen? Might be a bit off topic in the off topic forum but I am curious as to why you like it Bought it during the sales and I don't know if I should play it any time soon or just wait until I play and finish some other games. Hey, we're talking something like a visual novel, so I don't think it's really that off topic. Anyway, for anyone else who doesn't know about it, Long Live the Queen plays as one part VN, one part raising sim (Princess Maker, Cute Knight, etc.). It has a decision tree that is fixed for all playthroughs, but some of the decisions are direct player decisions, and some are based on skill checks. The story, however, is pretty dark, with murder, war, dark omens and Machiavellian plotting all around. I've heard it described as being somewhat similar to Game of Thrones, though I've never read/watched any of it to say how accurate the comparison is. There's a lot of endings, most of them being Elodie's many deaths, so be prepared to lose the first few games before you figure out who's trying to assassinate who and which people can be trusted (basically no one). If you're already used to VNs, you'll probably appreciate it from a completionist standpoint, as there are 11 different deaths and about 30 ending scenes to collect. Personally, I was expecting something a little bit more raising sim than what I got, but I've still enjoyed it quite a bit. Artwork is pretty cute, which you've probably seen from the Steam screenshots. Music is appropriate, mostly piano solos to set mood, be it calm or dramatic. Good story, although the cast of characters is large and a little hard to track at times. Overall, pretty good, even if not exactly what I expected, and definitely a lot of fun, as long as you don't mind your humor dark. Sounds like what I expected from the game is true. Thank you for the reply! I think I will try it out as soon as I have the time. And phhhf... me, lose? I am the king of visual novels/raising sims. (not really) I am Danish so dark humor is best humor. I expect huge things from this game now!

Also, I still maintain that you will die before you win, simply because the game will hit you with something you haven't prepared for. Nothing wrong with that; like I said, one of the goals in the game is to see every way in which Elodie can die.

Ah... I knew this would come up. I have to say... Katawa Shoujo. 'Cause it's KS. The feels... Anyway, favourite anime (in no order since I couldn't decide): BEST: Sword Art Online Psycho-Pass Guilty Crown Bakuman (1, 2 and 3) Btooom! ToraDora! Kaichou wa Maid-Sama
Visual Novels (again, in no order): Hoshizora no Memoria Katawa Shoujo Kendo Crush (in it's current state, it's still better than half of the ones I've tried) ToraDora! Portable Grisaia no Kajitsu
Manga: Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, Death Note and Bakuman, since I've only read those ones.

Currently watching Terror in Resonance / Zankyou no Terror It's a psychological/thriller/mystery anime where the two main characters are intelligent terrorists with unknown motives that upload a video to the internet with hints/riddles prior to their next bombing It's been amazing so far

Just finished Amane's route in Grisaia no Kajitsu, and I'm nearly done with Sachi. Amane's past... Holy sh*t. Seriously. It's kind of like Katawa Shoujo, but rather than upsetting it's really quite disturbing. NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED. IT'S TEXT, NO PICTURES, BUT I FIND IT RATHER DISTURBING EVEN THOUGH I EXPLAINED IT KIND OF CRAPPILY.
Basically, when she was younger, her basketball team was on their way back from a time away. They take a country road in order to avoid traffic, and end up falling off a cliff. 3 of the girls die in the fall, the rest, and the coach, survive. Obviously, they spend two weeks going about this, when the captain and coach start going off into the forest together. Those of you with a similar mind have probably figured where this is going. They get caught having sex by Amane and the protagonist's sister. Amane gets scared, and makes the... "Conjoined couple" aware of their presence. I started to freak out here. They've essentially turned into ghouls. I mean, the "meat" that they had been eating was the flesh of the dead players... And they were having sex in an area full of chopped-off limbs. Woo! How nice. But anyway, the coach has gone frigging mad, and the look on his face was seriously creepy. So then they start shouting at each other to kill Amane and whatsherface (sister-kid). They run off and all that. Amane is the only survivor. I can't explain it in a way where you get the details... But it's bloody creepy. Then they give you hints about how the sister is alive, but you never find out.
EDIT: Oh great. Sachi has the option of killing herself, or her mother. How nice.
EDITEDIT: Goddammit, Sachi. I'm not sure if I can stomach the other endings... Mayu, are the other ones worth going through?
But yeah, it's really quite disturbing. Go read it On a side note, how are you meant to "recover" from reading something like that? There's always that mellow, depressed feeling left behind. Any advice on the matter?
